YOUR
DIVE TRIBE
Freedivers across America are training, exploring, and growing together. Find your people — by state, by discipline, or by passion.
All for One
ONE FOR
ALL
Freediving is a solo act performed in community. You hold your breath alone — but who is watching over you, training alongside you, and cheering you deeper matters enormously. The USFF community is that network.
Get Involved
FOUR WAYS TO
CONNECT
The USFF community is what you make it. Whether you want to find a dive buddy for next weekend or organize a beach cleanup for your entire coastline — here is how to get started.
FIND YOUR
STATE
State Groups
We searched Facebook to find freediving groups and pages organized by state so you can easily find others who share your passion. Each group may have its own criteria based on experience or certification level — please review those requirements before joining.
USFF is neutral toward all of these groups and appreciates their efforts to bring the community together. If you know of a group that isn't listed, let us know and we'll add it.
And do yourself a favor — carry DAN Freedive Insurance. Have a backup plan. Be prepared. Dive safe →
SAFETY IS NOT
OPTIONAL
Dive Safe
Never freedive alone — always dive with a certified, attentive buddy at the surface
Get certified before diving with any group — proper training saves lives
Respect the experience requirements of any group you join
Know your limits — depth and breath-hold progression should be gradual and supervised
Have a backup plan for every dive — know who to call and how to respond in an emergency
Freediving is an extraordinarily safe sport when practiced correctly — and an extraordinarily unforgiving one when it isn't. The USFF community takes safety seriously. These are non-negotiables.
DAN Freedive Insurance
Divers Alert Network (DAN) offers freediving-specific insurance covering emergency medical treatment, evacuation, and more. USFF strongly recommends every freediver carry DAN Freedive Insurance — it is an inexpensive backup plan that can make an enormous difference in an emergency.
PROTECT THE
OCEAN WE LOVE
Preserve
The USFF works in collaboration with partner organizations to protect the marine environment. We encourage every member to take an active role in ocean stewardship — from joining a beach cleanup to advocating for marine conservation in your community.
Many of our state community groups organize regular beach and underwater cleanups. Get involved through your local group, or reach out if you want to organize one in your area.
Want to Compete?
MEMBERSHIP IS YOUR
FIRST STEP
USFF membership is required to compete at any CMAS-sanctioned event and to be eligible for National Team consideration.

TRAVEL TO SOME AMAZING FREEDIVE LOCATION!
Have you found yourself looking for freedive buddies in your area or across the United States? To help support and grow the community, we searched Facebook to find various pages and groups of freedivers organized by state. If you happen to come across others, or if we missed any, please let us know and we will add them to the list.
The goal here is to help make it easier for everyone to connect and find others that are like minded. If you visit any of the pages, please keep in mind that each of them may have criteria on who they may or may not allow to engage based on your level of experience or certification. If you consider yourself a freediver (or spearo) please take a course and become certified. This will be in your best interest as well as your buddies.
We are neutral towards any of the groups below, and so appreciate their efforts to bring us all together! AND, do yourself a favor and carry DAN Freedive Insurance just in case……have a backup plan, be prepared and dive safe!
