USFF Announces Proposed 2027 Freediving Insurance Program

🇺🇸 A NEW ERA FOR FREEDIVING INSURANCE IS ON THE HORIZON! 🌊

The U.S. Freediving Federation (USFF) is preparing to introduce something the freediving community has needed for years: insurance designed specifically around the activities and risks of freedivers.

We've been working with our insurance broker to develop a program that goes beyond traditional recreational freediving coverage, with proposed benefits extending to:

✅ Recreational freediving and depth training
✅ Pool training, static and dynamic apnea
✅ Sanctioned freediving competitions
✅ Official record attempts
✅ Designated competition safety diving
✅ Under-ice freediving and spearfishing
✅ Worldwide accident coverage and emergency medical evacuation

PROPOSED 2027 MEMBERSHIP + INSURANCE: $220 ANNUALLY

The proposed program includes up to $100,000 in accident medical benefits, a $250 deductible, and up to $100,000 in emergency medical evacuation benefits.

And importantly, we're working to make this available not only to eligible U.S. freedivers, but also to eligible international freedivers through our Associate Membership program.

🌎 WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Before finalizing the program, USFF is conducting a pre-enrollment survey to understand community interest and anticipated participation.

Your participation matters. Whether you're a recreational freediver, instructor, competitive athlete, safety diver or aspiring record holder, your feedback will help shape this initiative.
